What are the benefits of having a battery?

Batteries, although not essential, are a great element of a photovoltaic solar systems. Batteries increase savings on electricity bills, since they store the excess energy produced by the solar panels, allowing users to use this electricity later in the day when the sun goes down, rather than buying this electricity from the grid. The energy can be self-consumed instead of being fed back into the electrical grid, which leads to lower energy consumption from the grid.
